Micaela received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Arts in Education and Social Change from the University of Miami. She was selected to become a Teach For America Corps Member where she taught at an inner city public school for several years. She continued her teaching career at a private day school and later became a Learning Specialist at a New York City Charter School. Micaela is a Certified Teacher with a Reading Endorsement. She has trained in many multi-sensory approahes including Wilson Reading System, Lindamood-Bell, and Orton Gillingham (PAF) which she infuses into her lessons. Through her experience both in the classroom and as a private tutor, Micaela has become passionate about infusing JOY into the learning process. She has built Joy of Learning by understanding the unique needs of learners and through her ability to maximize student potential to help them succeed. By educating the whole child and creating a state of joy in learning, students are able to reach goals otherwise unimaginable.
